With Day Training, your dog comes home every evening and sleeps in your home. Stay In Train means your dog stays 24/7 for the full program duration of 4 to 6 weeks. Day Training is perfect for dogs with separation anxiety, owners who want their dog home at night, or families who want consistent daily training without the full commitment of boarding.
We recommend 3 to 5 days per week for best results. Consistency is key in dog training. Dogs who attend regularly learn faster and retain skills better than those who come sporadically. That said, even 2 days per week provides value, and we work with whatever schedule fits your family.
We carefully introduce all new dogs and assess their social skills before including them in group play. Not all dogs participate in group socialization - some dogs prefer individual attention or parallel play where they can see other dogs but have their own space. We completely customize the day based on each dog's comfort level and needs. If your dog is reactive or aggressive toward other dogs, we can still accommodate them with a modified schedule focused on individual training sessions.
Day Training works well for jumping, pulling on leash, basic obedience, mild separation anxiety, lack of socialization, hyperactivity, poor impulse control, and basic manners. It is not appropriate for severe aggression toward people or dogs, which requires our specialized behavioral consultation program.
The first day is an assessment and introduction day. We take things slowly, let your dog explore and get comfortable, assess their social skills and training level, and begin building a relationship. Some dogs are immediately comfortable, others need a few days to settle in. We'll communicate with you throughout the day about how they're doing.
Yes! Most dogs are happily exhausted after a full day of training, socialization, mental enrichment, and exercise. This is one of the biggest benefits our clients report - their dog comes home ready to relax for the evening instead of bouncing off the walls with pent-up energy.
Just let us know! Packages are flexible and don't require consecutive days. We understand schedules change. As long as you use your package days within 90 days of purchase, you're all set.
We provide fresh water throughout the day. If your dog will be with us over lunchtime and typically eats a midday meal, you're welcome to bring food in a labeled container with feeding instructions. Many dogs do fine without a midday meal and just eat breakfast before arrival and dinner after pickup.
Safety is our top priority. We maintain close supervision at all times. In the unlikely event of injury or illness, we will contact you immediately and follow your emergency instructions. We're located near quality veterinary care and have a Veterinarian of Record. We will seek immediate attention if needed.
We prefer not to have owner visits during the training day as it can disrupt your dog's focus and the group dynamic. However, we're happy to send you photo and video updates throughout the day so you can see how they're doing! Most owners love getting these updates at work.
No! You can start with a single drop-in day to try it out, or purchase a package right away for better value. We want you to see the results before making a big commitment.
After the first day or two, we'll have a good sense of whether Day Training is meeting your dog's needs. If we feel a different program would be more effective, we'll have an honest conversation with you about other options like Stay and Train or Private Lessons. Our goal is your dog's success, not just filling spots.
